EQUITABLE
AND EVEN-HANDED EXPOSITION
By. S. P. Attri (USA)

1. A few Hindus have expressed to me, that one thing that
strikes them as most admirable about my posts, is my brutal
honesty with respect to all facts, especially the darker side --
about others and also about OURSELVES. What exactly is my reason
and rationale for this Modus Operandi?
2. If I criticized "only" Islam and Christianity, only
picked on their defects, and completely ignored the defects in our
own Hindu System, then I would be aping the Moslems and
Christians. Moslems and Christians unleash the fury of their
criticism on the Non-Moslem and Non-Christian religions (the Kafir/Infidel
religions), and give all the benefit of doubt, to their own
religions of Islam and Christianity, they give no benefit of doubt
whatsoever to the Kafir-Religions. This Islamo-Christian Approach
is neither fair to Moslems/Christians, nor to the Hindus. It is
neither legitimate nor dispassionate.
This approach does not stand the slightest analysis, dissection,
or reduction to truth. I have no use for it.
3. I regard this predisposed and prejudiced approach, that has a
clear one-sided slant, as Totally Close-Minded, Totally
Un-scientific, and Totally Unjustified.
Picking on the Innocent People of the Kafir-World, and leaving
alone the Barbarians of the Jehadi/Crusading-Religions, is neither
reasonable nor justified, by standards of any civilized society.
However, this happens to be the Standard Islamic and Christian
Approach, it does not bother the Moslems or the Christians that
their prejudiced-approach is not only false and fallacious, but
noxious and nauseating as well. This approach is very aggravating,
it infuriates me.
4. We Hindus have no reason to ape this illiberal and illegitimate
approach, our Hindu Religion has nothing to hide, our
Hindu-Religion is an OPEN book, our Hindu-Record is on the table,
and all aspects of our religion (good as well as bad) are agape,
nothing has been shut out behind a facade of blasphemy or
profanation, this Wide-Open Hindu Approach goes back several
thousand years. Though we are living in a challenging world, this
does not trigger fear in us, nor make us hesitate to look through
the smoke, to make our assessment. What is most important for us
Hindus is, to be logical, accurate, open-minded, and look at all
sides of the problem, then let the chips fall where they may.
What this means is that we Hindus, must look at our own Hinduism
also fairly and squarely, and do our house-cleaning, purging it of
any problems and defects, that might have crept into it, without
forgetting the essential nature and spirit of our Hinduism.
5. The true story of Hinduism brings to light the refreshing
truth, that Hinduism is a religion of the Free-Man, it is an
OPEN-Religion. Because both Islam and Christianity are religions
of Slave-People, and because both of them are CLOSED religions,
they have nothing in common with Hinduism. Because of their Closed
nature, all scanning and scrutiny of Islam and Christianity, are
inadmissible and totally off-limits to the reviewer. The edicts of
both of them are rigidly fixed, and locked in concrete for all
time to come. No Moslem and No Christian has the authority to
either criticize or alter any of these edicts, without committing
the crime of Blasphemy.
Blasphemy is so serious a crime in both Islam and Christianity,
that Moslems and Christians have used deadly force against those
of their co-religionists, who were "suspected" of
Blasphemy. Millions of Moslems and Christians have had to face the
deadly-wrath of their co-religionists on charges of Blasphemy,
these two criminals of Islam and Christianity have been on the
loose for centuries. There is no escape for the apostates, when
the Mullas and Maulvies raise the corny and moth-eaten war-cry of:
"ISLAM IS IN DANGER."
This Deadly-Distinction between Open-Hinduism and
Closed-Islam/Christianity, must be clearly kept in mind.
6. Because Hinduism is a Free and Flexible Religion, by definition
it is also a REFORM-RELIGION. There is no conflict in Hinduism
between Religion (that is Hindu-Religion) and Reason, no conflict
between Analysis (of Hinduism) and Reform (of Hinduism). Those who
do not recognize this element of flexibility in Hinduism, are
totally ignorant of Hinduism. Hinduism has no Penal-Codes (Unlike
Islam and Christianity, both of which are well-equipped with
Penal-Codes), Hindus are free to alter and reform their rituals
and procedures, as the needs of the time and circumstances
dictate. That is why we Hindus are never afraid to re-check or
re-search our Hinduism, we regard this kind of survey and scrutiny
of our Hinduism, similar to taking a look at any other piece of
knowledge.
7. Simply put: The difference between Hinduism and
Islam/Christianity, is the difference between FREEDOM AND SLAVERY,
between the FREE-WORLD OF HINDUISM and the SLAVE-WORLD OF ISLAM
AND CHRISTIANITY. Hinduism is based upon the Ancient-Vedas, Vedas
are derived from the word Vid, meaning to know or knowledge.
Consequently, Hinduism has no fear of inquiry or reform, in its
search for truth and knowledge, including new knowledge. Like any
other piece of knowledge, Hinduism can be freely looked at,
probed, scrutinized, and taken stock of.
Because inquiry, investigation, and re-search are the proverbial
by-words of Hinduism, Hinduism is not afraid to look at itself,
that is why also it does not display attitudes of Arrogance and
Ignorance, Moslems and Christians routinely display these
defensive reactions, to escape criticism and inquiry into their
religions, and into their methods of violence, aggression, and
crimes. What this means is simply this that we Hindus, treat our
Hinduism scientifically like any other piece of knowledge. Moslems
and Christians treat their religions un-scientifically, they treat
them just like the prejudices of popular superstitions, this
damages and impairs their thinking, making it impossible for them
to judge without bias and bigotry.
8. Because of this Hindu-Tradition of Open-ness, which goes back
to thousands of years, it becomes incumbent upon us Hindus now, to
take a good look at our social institutions, and ask ourselves if
they are helping us or hurting us, do they assist or avert
our technology and progress. We must not blindly keep on following
our rituals and social customs, just because they happen to have
been handed down to us. There are many many examples of how the
rest of the world moved forward technologically, while we were
being left way behind, we kept on doing things the old-fashioned
way, the way our fathers and fore-fathers did.
9. Because the world was dynamic (it did not stay static), it kept
on moving forward, and invented all kinds of new technology and
deadly-weapons, while we were stuck with our old, obsolete
technology, due to our social backwardness (due to our
rascally-noxious caste system). We went to sleep, and failed to
observe what was going on in the world around us, we failed to
reform our social institutions. As a result, we were left behind
the prevailing and emerging technologies of the world.
10. We need to be aware and we must realize, that our caste system
is an Extremely-Old system, it is much older than Manu. Manu
neither invented nor created caste system, he only observed it,
and described it as he found it. Initially, caste system was
completely-open and fully-flexible, it was based in its entirety
upon Gunas (Aptitude, Attitude, and Talents) only. It had been
designed as a system of Division Of Labor, to get the work of the
society done, in an efficient manner.
This Open and Flexible Caste System worked very well, and
continued its efficient-operation for centuries, perhaps for millenniums.
During this time, the Hindus invented lots of new knowledge and
science, and shared their discoveries, their science and
knowledge, freely with other societies of the world. But as time
went on, the caste-distinctions got crystallized/matured into
rigid-castes, purely through usage and habit of mind, and nothing
else. Castes came to be determined by birth and not by worth (that
is Guna). When BIRTH became the mission of the Hindu, instead of
WORTH, Hindus started spiraling downwards, Hindu's
Previous-Efficiency went to hell, and Hindu-Technology also
followed the road-map towards hell.
11. Since that perversion of our Caste-System, the amount of
social and technological damage that our Perverted-Caste system
has done to us Hindus, is colossal. This is Not the Caste-System
that we had invented, this is not the Division Of Labor that our
Sages And Seers had conceived initially. The Later-Version of our
caste system, is a Distorted and Perverted Version of our Real and
Original Caste System. This Perverted and Distorted Caste System
is Not our Hindu-System at all, it is a Rascal, it is a Traitor to
our Hindu System, and deserves to be treated like a Traitor.
It is a Totally-Obsolete System, it has no place in the modern
world, which works on efficiency and speed. Our Perverted and
Distorted Caste System is a terrible handicap to us Hindus, it is
a Jumbo-Bottleneck in our Hindu Operation, it stupendously saps
the creative talents, endowments, and genius of the Hindu. In
short, it steals the Hindu's Lunch.
There is a Huge-Cry as well as a Huge-Need, to get rid of this
Obsolete-Obsolete Rascally-Noxious caste system. But elimination
of our caste system is not going to be exactly picnic, it is going
to remain only a political dream, unless we Hindus get real
serious about this problem, and offer Massive-Incentives.
King-Sized Incentives can blow the lid off our Nasty Perverted and
Distorted Caste System, and expunge it for good, for once and for
all. No Questions Asked!
12. We Hindus do not need to hide under the desk, instead what we
need to do is confront this Rascal/Traitor head-on, and give it
the punishment and treatment that this traitor deserves. The
essential nature of Hinduism, its Freedom and Flexibliity, and its
inherent characteristic of Reform, demand that we Hindus undertake
this Reform-Task Immediately.
13. Above all of it, we Hindus must never forget that:
Religion, like any other piece of knowledge, needs to be checked
and looked at again and again. We must not disgrace our noble
Hindu-Religion by neglecting it or leaving it alone, as an archaic
and fossilized antique, since the world was made. We must be
constantly on the look-out, for new ideas, new techniques, and new
knowledge. In the modern challenging battle-field of the world,
our religion must be exposed to inquiry and adjustments, to keep
it in proper competitive trim, it must be speedily purged of any
nasty and nauseating defects, that are found.
Arise Hindus!
