How Muslim Fundamentalists Celebrated Ramazan in Karnataka
Like every year this year too the fundamentalist Muslims were in a
festive mood during the month of Ramazan. The celebrations
typically include a display of their utterly ignorant and
intolerant attitudes, desecration of Hindu Gods and Goddesses,
causing violent communal riots, going on looting rampages,
suppression of freedom of speech and condemnation of everything
non-Islamic. And to top it all each mullah then proclaims
emphatically that violence is prohibited for Muslims during the
month of Ramazan.
The focus of Ramazan celebrations this year was Karnataka. During
the celebrations the Muslim mobs burned copies of New Indian
Express, asked for the banning of Dante's Inferno, desecrated a
Hindu idol by putting a garland of slippers on it, caused riots
and injured countless innocent Hindus.
Dante's Inferno - an anti-Islamic book?!
In the New Year's day edition of the New Indian Express,
journalist T.J.S. George wrote the following in an article titled,
The millennium is dead... Long live the millennium:
"So pervasive was the equation between the orient and evil on
the one hand and between Europe and virtuousness on the other,
that the stereotypical notions found their way into great
literature. Dante should suffice as example because his Inferno,
composed in the first decades of the 14th century, is so profound
a fixture in the literate world's consciousness. Dante had no
doubt that Prophet Mohammed's eventual place was in hell but in
the eighth of nine circles of hell, that is so close to the very
bottom where Satan himself dwells."
This and other quotations from Dante about the condition of
Mohammed in hell incensed the Muslim community so much so that
without utilizing their brain cells even for a fraction of a
second they formed a mob and started demanding punishment for
T.J.S. George and editors of New Indian Express.
The mob of Muslims started gathering in front of the newspaper's
office at around 2 P.M. on Sunday. Over time the mob swelled to
the strength of 1,000 men. The mob performed both the assar and
magrib namaaz on the road in front of the newspaper office causing
traffic delays and inconvenience to other civilians. They also
broke their fast on the road. But the day was not over yet and
festivities were just beginning. Many Muslim religious leaders
were seen exhorting and inciting the mob by reciting passages from
the Quran. It did not take long for the mob to gather itself into
a frenzy. While all this was going on the police just stood and
watched.
A New Indian Express truck carrying 74 rolls of newsprint was soon
set on fire. It is at this time the police started taking action.
They used lathicharge and teargas to disperse the mob, however now
it was already too late. The crazed mob was in no mood to have
their festivities spoiled by the police. They threw stones causing
businesses to shut down. Cameras of two journalist photographers
were snatched from them and the photographers were themselves
mercilessly beaten up.
The Express management was forced to issue an apology in their
Sunday edition for "hurting" the feelings of the Muslim
community. On the same day a team of Muslim
"intellectuals" led by the Jamia Masjid Imam went to the
New Indian Express office with a memorandum seeking action against
Mr. George and a personal apology from him. When the express
management said that it had already apologized the
"intellectual" Muslims said that they were not satisfied
with a simple apology and they wanted Mr. George arrested.
Some of these fundamentalist Muslims even went to the police
commissioner T. Madiyal asking him to arrest Mr. George for his
deliberate attempt to hurt the sentiment of the Muslim community.
The police commissioner later on meekly told journalists that he
was considering making a case against Mr. George under Section
153(a) of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with inciting
communal violence! Ah, the ways of the "secular"
Congress government! Now it is forbidden for a journalist to quote
from Dante's Inferno on account that he/she might anger the Muslim
community. However, it is quite alright for the Mullahs, Maulanaas
and the Maulavis to exhort the Muslims to cause riots while the
police just stands and watches. After all, the Muslims are not
governed by the Indian Law. They have the Islamic Sharia!
Anees Khan, leader of the Muslim mob which burned down the New
Indian Express truck and injured at least two journalist
photographers told newspersons that he would
file a case in the high court seeking a ban on Dante's book.
"Since Dante's book speaks ill of the Holy Prophet, we want a
ban on his book," Khan said.
"Most of the protesters here do not know who Dante is and
what book he has written. But we are angry with the New Indian
Express because it has carried comments objectionable to Muslim
society," Khan further stated.
Khan and his fellow brainwashed Muslim fundamentalists need to
take off their blinders. If they do so they will see that Mr.
George's article actually criticizes Dante! It was not intended to
insult Islam or Mohammed! The stupidity and narrow-mindedness
exhibited by these Muslim fundamentalists is at times mind
boggling.
Hindu idol garlanded with slippers
What is a good Ramazan celebration without insulting the Hindus
and desecrating their Gods and Goddesses? Yes, Ramazan is just not
Ramazan unless the Muslim fundamentalists indulge in some kind of
barbaric acts against the Hindu community. This time the Muslims
chose the town of Chikmagalur in Karnataka. Here an idol in a
Hindu temple was garlanded with slippers. When the Hindu community
found out about this they were angered, however they did not
resort to violence. Instead, a peaceful procession was carried out
by Bajrang dal and a few other Hindu Groups on the eve of Hanumant
Jayanti protesting against this desecration.
The procession was joined by a Muslim crowd who claimed to be
supporters of the Hindus. The so far peaceful procession soon
became violent when the Muslims in the crowd started throwing
stones and slippers at the idol in a temple located at the
Hanumanthappa Circle. The same Muslims who claimed that they had
come out to support the Hindus turned against them. Many innocent
Hindus were injured. A farmer returning home after selling milk
was stabbed in the chest by the crazed Muslim fundamentalists.
Some police officials and other civilians including a young girl
were also injured either through stab wounds or by stones which
were hurled at them. Businesses and transportation in the area
came to a grinding halt. As usual the police officials did not do
anything until the situation got completely out of hand. No doubt,
the police commissioner is considering the arrest of the Hindu
participants in the procession for inciting communal tension!
Conclusion
It is disgusting to see that the Congress administration in the
state just tags along behind the Muslim fundamentalists by
allowing them to disrupt normal life and suppress freedom of
speech. If it is not the celebration of Ramazan then it is
Eid-ul-Fitr or Mohammed's birthday and many times no occasion is
necessary to indulge in barbarous activities for the Muslim
fundamentalists. Just look at Jammu and Kashmir. It seems like in
that state the Islamic terrorists celebrate Ramazan and
Eid-ul-Fitr everyday.
Why should Mr. George of New Indian Express be arrested? Why
should Dante's Inferno be banned? Why are we letting our country
being overrun by a bunch of intolerant, barbaric hate mongers who
call themselves Muslims? Is India an Islamic country? Why does
India have two sets of laws - one for the Muslims and one for the
rest of the people? These are the kinds of questions that every
Hindu should ask himself/herself. The answer is clear. If Hindus
do not stand up and fight for their rights, their self-respect and
their freedom then they will either soon be killed or forced to
lead a humiliating life under the Islamic Sharia.
