Undoing
the damage done to Indian History-Part 1 by Aniruddha Avanipal
There are many good reasons
for studying the true history of any nation. But for an
individual, one of the most important reasons for studying the
history of his/her own nation is that it acts as an excellent tool
of analysis for the development of the individual's own
"self". History should act as a crystal clear mirror and
in effect aid the individual to logically understand and realize
the strength and weakness of the nation from its past deeds and
incidents. The lessons learnt from a well-written, unbiased and
properly documented history can also act as a motivating,
energizing and inspiring agent for an individual on the path of
self-development
But the Indian history which is taught today in educational
institutions of India serves not even an iota of the
above-mentioned purposes. On the other hand, it excels in
propagating enormous amounts of misinformation, outright lies and
serves as a very demoralizing factor for the common masses and
especially the children of India. Although, this version of
history took birth in the hands of a few misinformed or
maliciously motivated British historians, it has been nurtured and
promoted by the Muslim, Communist and so called
"secular" Historians of India with an ever increasing
zeal. It is this twisted version of Indian History which portrays
the "weak and meek" picture of a Hindu who according to
our secular historians rarely stood up in the defense of his/her
motherland and its culture. Common Hindus in India also
participated in popularizing this version of History thinking that
by doing so they were proving the greatness of India's spiritual
power as opposed to the materialistic ambition of the western
world. Although I am sure that our Muslim and Communist historians
of India do not find this spirituality of much use, but they
certainly find this version of Indian history very convenient and
useful for promoting their own imperialist causes.
As a result what our children are learning today in the name of
Indian history is a history of invaders starting from Greeks,
Iranians, Kushan, Arabs, Turks, Persians to Portuguese, Dutch,
French and British. The moral basis of our young generation is not
based on the true history of India- a History of powerful and
glorious Hindu India whose people not only excelled in
spirituality and physical sciences but also fought fiercely and
bravely against the tyranny and oppression of foreign invaders
until they were defeated. It is this moral basis of Indians which
gave fuel to the imperialistic British to invade India and plunder
its wealth for centuries. It is this moral basis of Indians which
keeps mum when Islamic terrorists in Kashmir kill innumerable
Hindu women and children in the name of Allah. And it is this
moral basis of Indians which allow "Vande Ma Taram" to
be declared as anti-national by politicians who are ready to sell
the country in lieu of getting Muslim votes.
British, German, Muslim, Communist and secular historians have
employed various mechanisms and procedures to slowly and gradually
get rid of the national perspective of Indian history. Some of
those methods were obvious and some were subtle. The national
perspective lost its focus when the above-mentioned historians
started glorifying Hyder-Ali, Tipu Sultan and Siraj-Ud-Dawla as
true Indian patriots. It got distorted when the political system
of blood-thirsty Moghul Emperors was described by communist
historians as India's native political system in which its
victims, the Hindus supposedly took the same pride as they did in
ancient Gupta and Maurya periods. And the national perspective was
totally perverted when the terrorizing Muslim dynasties of Mamluks,
the Khaljis, the Tughlaqs, the Sayyads, the Lodis and the
Bahamanis were portrayed as indigenous dynasties on par with the
Hindu kings of Maukharis, the Rashtrakutas, the Chalukyas, the
Chandellas, the Chauhans etc. But whether it was introduction of
the insidious myth of Aryan Invasion theory or labeling Shivaji as
anti-national, the final desired result of those historians was
the same - to create a solid foundation of lies and misinformation
which aids the imperialistic ambitions of the foreigners and
diminishes the nationalistic ideals of Hindu Indians.
Indian children are injected with this version of history in their
households as well as in their schools all through their lives. It
is this distorted version of history which shapes our young ones
thinking procedure. This loss of national perspective of Indian
history has eventually given birth to the typical mentality of a
Hindu Indian. A mentality which has been made to believe that a
Hindu is not true to his/her nation or religion until and unless
he/she satisfies the following criteria
Considers the Muslim invaders as true national heroes who
demolished Hindu temples, burnt Hindu libraries, dishonored Hindu
women and massacred Hindu children
Respects the imperialistic version of history formed by these so
called "secular historians" as true history of India
even though they are outright lies
Considers every piece of Hindu literature and thought as
fundamentalist ideas even though they are perfectly logical and
open-minded
Treats every Hindu scripture as superstition in spite of the fact
that they contain oceans of scientific knowledge and facts.
It is about time that the true History of India is written with
utmost care and accuracy. A history which not only recovers the
national perspective on Indian history, but also resurrects the
brave and heroic image of Hindu personality. A History which
logically and systematically proves that Hindu men and women not
only fought ceaselessly to defend their own motherland but they
also fought for the defense of something which they valued more
than their lives.
In the next article of this series we will see how the Islamic
highway robbers from Arabland miserably failed in their attempt to
invade India.
