Religious Fanaticism
The Ongoing Crusades
The object of this article is to bring to light
the activities of the ever-growing number of fundamentalist
Christians. To those who thought the days of fanatical
Crusade-fighting Christians was over, think again. All around the
world, while attention is diverted by the Western (Christian)
powers to the threat of Islamic fundamentalism and its potential
serious consequences on world peace, they themselves are funding
and training countless numbers of their own religious fanatics to
spread the word of Christianity to the four corners of the globe.
This is a slur on the name of international
harmony. Indeed, it has truly been said that more wars are fought
in the name of religion than for any cause - and THESE are the
people who cause those wars. Militant by its very nature, the
demonic cult of fanatic Christianity will not rest until each and
every single person alive on the face of the Earth has been
successfully brainwashed by their "missionaries" - a
noble "mission" indeed!!
Not for these people is the principle of the
truth and validity of each and every religion. To their twisted
minds, Jesus Christ is the one and only way. All others,
regardless of their lifestyle - even the purest of the pure - are
doomed forever to burn in the fires of hell. The only way to
escape eternal punishment according to these people is to shun the
culture, heritage, tradition and religion that has been an
integral part of your own ancestry and national spirit for untold
millenia.
Diversity is the essential ingredient of a
vibrant and healthy society. Evolution itself is entirely
dependant upon the inherent diversity of expression present in
each and every part of nature. But of course, it was people like
these who have resisted every single major scientific breakthrough
in history ever since the inception of Christianity. Darwin
himself faced tremendous criticism of his works, as did Newton,
Gallileo, Copernicus...the list is endless. And now, these enemies
of humanity seek to abolish once and for all the very possibility
of any kind of diversity existing, setting up a theocratic
dictatorship throughout the world.
Far worse than Hitler, and much more
dangerous in their potential destructive capability, these people
would seek to destroy any last vestige of any culture other than
that which they themselves practise. The richness of the human
mind, the colourful variety brought about by the interaction of
myriad different cultures and subcultures in a harmonious
co-existence, this is not for them.
Those who have dedicated their lives to the
moulding of others, or, in default of this, to the ridding the
planet of those "evil spawn of the devil" who refuse to
convert to their own ideals, cannot ever see the victory of
tolerance, understanding and sense.
Such fundamentalism must be exposed for what
it really is - not any kind of God-given holy task, not
"bringing God's light to those who wander lost in the
darkness of ignorance", but plain and simple hate-driven
refusal to accept that any other way may be just as good as their
own. It is only once the world wakes up to the truth of religious
militancy as blatantly practised by these scourges on the name of
humanity that there can be any kind of concerted eeffort to remove
such wanton destructiveness from the world.
In the name of tolerance, the Hindus of
India allow these vile insects to remain in their communities and
expand, infecting, one by one, each member of the community they
take up residence in. No longer can Hindus afford to do this. If
the Hindu does not stand up for his own beliefs, noone else will.
Already, we are seeing a state where, in Tripura, Christian
converts are able to prevent the indigenous Hindu community from
practising their own religion!!
As the old saying goes, "They came for
the Jews, I said nothing; they came for the blacks, still I said
nothing; they came for the Asians, I said nothing even then; then
they came for me, and there was noone left to say anything."
Though the activities of these militants are directed towards
India, their effects will be on the entire world, including those
Christians who do not subscribe to such fundamentalist ideology.
Before it is too late, the international community at large MUST
act to stop this vile, insidious disease of religious
fundamentalism. More than anything else, the greatest threat to
the modern-day world is religious fanaticism - whether that be
Islamic, Christian, Vaishnava or anything else.
I therefore make an open appeal to all those
who believe in the FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHT to lead one's
life according to one's own wishes and beliefs to step forward and
openly condemn the acts of these religious zealots. I plead with
all those who profess to be defenders of freedom, democracy,
secularism and truth to come forward and act now to stop these
heinous acts before it is too late.
Below is a mail I recently received from a
friend who attended a lecture given by one of these religious
fanatics. For further demonstration of the wanton destruction of
age-old cultural traditions and religious faiths being carried out
by these "saviours of Man", please take a look at some
exemplary Christian websites here.
I am sending this mail to all those people
taht i think would care about it. If you don't care about a group
of missionaries trying to convert anyone anything in sight then
stop reading now
Many of you know me well and know that i am
quite strong in my faith, so i am more likely to get upset than
the average person
I went to a talk today by ( as advertised -
a christian from a hindu background ) He was talking about why he
became a christian and why christianity is the only way!
He had a very extremist attitude and even
said that he fears for his parents, as they are still hindu so
will not reach the kingdom of heaven ie will go to hell.
his talk was interesting to say the least.
he started off by talking about Ghandiji saying how he was a man
who researched a lot of religeons.
He also talked about how the world is
leading to Globalisation but ( surprising to me anyway ) dismissed
it as impractical and said that religeons were the main cause for
war - but then proceeded to be as intolerent a person from ANY
faith that i have ever come across. He acknowledged that religeon
was the cause for trouble but his solution was not that all the
religeons become more tolerent but more so that we all embrace
Jesus Christ as our Saviour
i can go on about what he said and would be
happy to do so if anyone would like me to then please reply asking
me to. i will just summarise though
he dismissed ghandiji as arrogant as
ghandiji was a scholar of religeons and took what he saw to be
good from all of them saying that he was arrogant as he saw
himself as god
He said that we as men are sinners and bad
people and we cannot ( as is the hindu belief ) rise up above this
mortality but all we can do is "thank" jesusji for dying
for our sins
We cannot go up to god like status but god
must come down and pick us up
About all paths leading to the same goal he
at first said that there are easy and difficult ways to get up a
mountain why take the hard way of hinduism where there are
millions of reincarnations before you can get anywhere when you
can take the straight path of christianty which will lead you to
judgement after only one!!! So Jesusji has cleared a path for us
which is the easy path. he then went on to say that we cannot
climb this mountain at all - basically us we are MERE humans and
that we are essentially bad people so god has to come down and
pick us up
Again i am drifting i apologise this talk
just really upset me
My basic point is that we ( whatever faith
we are from ) need to be aware that there are talks like this
going on.His critiscims werent restricted to hinduism he tried
Islam aswell... personally my belief is that we should try to
attend as many of these lunchtime talks as we can in as large
groups as we can and try to help defend our dharma
If you are completely uninterested by this
then i am sorry for sending you this mail those of you taht are
please get in touch or try to go to as many of the talks as you
can
i have no problem with them preaching about
the beauty of Christ but when they make up false" facts"
about other religeons i believe it is teh responsibilty of anyone
who has faith in that belief to stand up for the rights of their
belief
EKAM SAT VIPRAH BAHUDA VADANTI
(The truth is one but the sages call it by many names - an
ancient hindu saying)
